Explosion at Havana’s Saratoga puts Dianelys’ dreams on hold

Havana, May 9 (Prensa Latina) The explosion at the Saratoga hotel in Cuba put on pause the dream of Dianelys Socarrás, who looked forward to work in that tourist facility as an accountant and today is recovering from burns sustained in the incident.

Gianni Vera, her husband, agreed to speak with Prensa Latina near the door of service for burns of the Calixto García Clinical Surgical University Hospital in Havana, where she waited for some time.

As he confessed, he was waiting before she was transferred to the Institute of Neurology to undergo some tests, this Monday morning.

Dianelys, 45 years old, had learned of a call to fill a position in the Accounting department of the emblematic hotel, since she had already decided to give her professional life a direction.

It was then that she came from Artemisa for a job interview at the Saratoga, which was scheduled for Wednesday, but ended up on Friday.

The mother of two children, like other victims, did not expect such a terrifying episode in her life, but it happened, and since then she has been cared for with love and dedication by the specialized staff of the aforementioned room, Vera said.

The face of Gianni and another family member changed when the psychologist and her colleague informed them that Dianelys, despite the discomfort caused by the injuries, was in good spirits, disposition, confidence and certainty of her speedy recovery, something very positive in her condition, after experiencing a tragedy like that in their lives.
