Donetsk militia evacuates 400 people from Mariupol

Kiev, May 10 (Prensa Latina) The authorities of Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) evacuated 400 people, including 70 children, from the city of Mariupol, the DPR Territorial Defense Headquarters reported. The civilians were transferred from the city to Bezymiannoye, in the Novoazovski district, also in the Donetsk region, in the last 24 hours, the military command stated on its Telegram channel.

It added that a total of 29,962 people have been evacuated to the city of Bezymiannoye since March 5th.

The battle for the capture of Mariupol by DPR militias and Russian troops broke out on February 25th. The city was completely blockaded until the Armed Forces of Russia and its allies liberated it from the Ukrainian nationalists and Kiev’s forces.

However, a group of them is still barricaded in the Azovstal steelworks, where they have been called to leave and lay down their arms, under the commitment to respect their lives and treat the wounded, to no avail.
