“Unfortunately, our arguments and explanations about the real objectives of the special military operation and the real situation on the ground are completely ignored. It is obvious that they will not be heard this time either,” Zakharova explained.

She noted that the Russian delegation will not participate in the May 12 meeting, which she called “another political show (…) in the form of a scheduled special session,” TASS news agency reported.

According to the Russian representative, the Western countries mentioned as an argument for the need of the meeting the degradation of the situation on the ground and the false news about the events in the cities of Bucha and Mariupol.

“However, the crimes committed by the Ukrainian military and nationalists against their own civilian population are not taken into account,” the Russian Foreign Ministry official stressed.
