South Korea expresses its deep concern over the terrorist attack in the northern Sinai Peninsula on May 7, and extends its heartfelt condolences to the victims, the bereaved families, the Egyptian people and their government, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The Ministry stressed that terrorism cannot be justified under any circumstances and reaffirmed Seoul’s commitment to joining international efforts proactively to build peace and stability in the region.
Last Saturday, an armed group attacked a water pumping station near the Suez Canal, for which the extremist Islamic State claimed responsibility.
