With the presence of former Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and a full house, Steffens premiered the film last night at the Astor Plaza Theater in Bogota, where Petro’s family was also present.
“I’ve been working on this project for almost a year. I am a follower of the politics of this country and I have been very attentive to the events and, especially, of Gustavo Petro Urrego,” the director and actress said .
She assured that Petro’s life and political thought catches her attention and that is why she thought that the country deserved to know his personal life.
“I asked him and Verónica Alcocer to allow me to enter his house with a lens,” Steffens said, who highlighted the generosity of the presidential candidate and his family in opening the doors of his intimate life, a space that people take great care of.
“I have been very jealous of my private life, but with this work I was very respectful because my thing is not yellow journalism or ‘rating’. I wanted to show the human side of a person who contributes a lot to the country,” she emphasized.
