The National Association of Haitian Court Clerks (Anagh) said that despite the meetings held, no agreement has been reached so far between the strikers, the Justice and Finance Ministries, as well as with Prime Minister Ariel Henry.
The authorities “continue to be indifferent to the court clerks and prosecutors, and do not give any satisfaction to their various demands”, said the organization in a communiqué a few hours before the first month of strike.
Last April 12, the union went on indefinite strike to pressure the Executive to implement the November 3, 2017 agreement that would increase salaries and equalize the fees of government commissioners. The judicial secretaries criticized the alleged lack of governmental will to meet the workers’ demands, despite multiple strikes in recent years, which paralyze the judicial system, increasing the problem of prolonged pre-trial detention.
