The cases were detected after the application of 15,357 tests, which showed a positivity of 21.5 percent, according to the epidemiological report of the Health Ministry (Minsa).

There were no deaths during the day, bringing deathtoll since the pandemic began in March 2020 to 8,194 and the total number of infected persons to 793,137.

The townships and districts with the highest number of positive cases in the last hours are San Francisco, Rufina Alfaro, Bella Vista and Juan Díaz (Panama), and Chitré (Herrera province), said the Minsa.

The PAI stated that 87.4 percent of the target population -over five years old- have at least one dose; 77.7 percent have the second dose; and 48.7 percent have applied the booster dose.
