A dialogue among women of different ages, origins and professions serves as the thread of “La flor….,” a story in which irony and intelligent humor pepper the exchange, a reflection of the contemporary Ecuadorian life.

The staging is by actors Veronica Falconi, Maria Belen and Sergio Esteban Tinajero, who have played the characters in important festivals in Latin America, North America and Europe, where they have been well received by audiences and critics.

The Cuban premiere of “La flor de la Chukirawa” (Ecuador’s national flower) will be at 17:00 hours, local time, at the Hubert de Blanck Theater-Hall.

In other Havana venues, the Mayo Teatral season has scheduled the staging of “Balada del pobre BB,” a play based on scenes, poems and songs by German playwright Bertolt Brecht, performed by Cuban group Impulso Teatro.

Meanwhile, Peruvian Norma Martinez’s one-woman show entitled “Solo cosas geniales” will be on stage at the Terry Theater in Cienfuegos, some 230 kilometers southeast of Havana.

The artistic dismantling of the play “FK, fantasia sobre Frida Kahlo,” by Cuban group Teatro de la Utopia, will also be at Casa de las Americas’ Manuel Galich hall this Thursday.
