When chairing the session of the Council of Ministers, President Michel Aoun called on the minister of Defense and minister of Interior to guarantee security at schools and their surroundings to facilitate the holding of the election.

The Lebanese president insisted on the need to prevent the payment of bribery alongisde military and security forces after reports of illegal money expenses arose.

Regarding the investigation into the explosion of the Beirut Port, Aoun noted that the standstill of the investigation has led to a series of illegal arrests, and taking measures and completing the inquiry are a wise thing to do.

The cabinet approved the loan contract with the World Bank to implement the emergency response project to guarantee wheat supply worth 150 million dollars.

Moreover, the Council decided to renew for one day the expired passports of voters in the parliamentary election and the cost of living subsidy for employees and workers.

They also accepted the offer of the Ministry of Energy and Water to grant licences in the nation for power plants based on solar energy.
