The newspaper says that the state Health Secretary issued a series of recommendations to prevent this disease as washing and disinfecting hands frequently. Patients under 16 years of age show an increase in liver enzymes, the agency revealed.

All are being evaluated in both public and private hospitals and according to information from authorities, they are of different ages and are in stable conditions.

Alma Rosa Marroquín, Secretary of Health in the state, said that they are monitoring the progress of the alert that has been issued internationally on acute hepatitis in children and revealed that these are the only current cases registered in the state.

She said they are monitoring them to evaluate the evolution and later share more complete information.

In a statement issued by the authority, it was specified that they proceeded to collect the necessary information to send the samples to the Institute of Diagnosis and Epidemiological Reference for their study and to evaluate the causes of the symptoms of the minors.
