According to the statement from the local Foreign Ministry, Lavrov congratulated Faría for his new appointment as head of Venezuelan diplomacy.

He also thanked him for his important contribution as ambassador of that South American nation in Russia in strengthening the strategic partnership between Moscow and Caracas.
