Diplomat warned about the validity of US plans against Venezuela

Caracas, May 18 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan ambassador to the United Nations (UN), Samuel Moncada, warned today that the attempted economic and military attacks by the United States against this nation are still in force.

In a message on the social network Twitter, the diplomat recalled that in 2019 he denounced the joint actions of Washington and the national right against the Venezuelan people and stressed “we are talking about a past that continues to be a present threat.”

In this regard, he pointed out that General Mark Milley, who proposed to the White House the use of mercenaries -trained in Colombia-, as well as the execution of terrorist acts and the attack on the National Electric System, is currently the chief of the General Staff of US Armed Forces.

He exposed how in the book A Sacred Oath, former US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper reveals Milley’s intentions to apply irregular war strategies on Venezuela, such as the training and arming of ex-soldiers.

Similarly, he recalled that Mauricio Claver-Carone, current president of the Inter-American Development Bank in the United States, was the same person who planned the attempted assassination of President Nicolás Maduro.

The military plans against Venezuela, he emphasized, remain on the table, after the former Secretary of Defense revealed that since 2020 the White House has sent warships to the coasts of this South American nation, such as the B-52 Bomber.

Moreover, he assured, according to Esper, a strategy was planned for the events that could be generated, “once Maduro has fallen.”
