In statements to the press, Taher Al Nono, media advisor to Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh, announced that Haniyeh sent “clear messages to many leaders and countries in the region” about the consequences of the Israeli strategy.
Haniyeh warned that Israel’s plans will force the Palestinian militias to respond, Al Nono noted.
In recent weeks, several right-wing members of parliament, analysts and the Israeli media have called on Naftali Bennett’s government to resume targeted assassinations of Palestinian public figures.
At the center of the target is Hamas´ head in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, who is blamed for the wave of attacks in Israel following his calls for resistance against the occupier.
Sinwar must be punished, “there were options to assassinate him in the past and there will be in the future, the decision will be made according to the need and the consequences”, the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee of the Knesset´s chairman (Parliament), Ram Ben Barak, recently said.
