Cuban Ambassador to Tokyo, Miguel Angel Ramirez, presented the awards at ceremonies held at the official headquarters of the Caribbean country.
“This distinction recognizes in an exceptional way those who around the world maintain an active work in defense of the Cuban Revolution and contribute to disseminate the political, social and economic transformations of the nation,” the diplomat said.
Likewise, the medal recognizes the contribution of the two organizations honored to the strengthening of ties between the peoples of Cuba and Japan, he stressed.
For his part, the founder and director of Peace Boat, Tatsuya Yoshioka, expressed his sincere gratitude for receiving the medal.
He also reiterated his solidarity with the island, motivated by the efforts of Cubans to move forward despite all the difficulties they have faced in their historical evolution, including the US economic blockade.
