On his Twitter account, Rodriguez Parrilla wrote, “Members of the European Parliament, representatives of multiple solidarity organizations, friends and Cubans living in Europe reaffirm their support for this rebellious Island during the ‘Days for Cuba’. Our thanks to all of them”.
An international meeting against the US blockade against Cuba opened on Wednesday in front of the European Parliament headquarters in Belgium and was attended by more than 200 people from several European nations. The meeting will take place throughout this week.
The participants occupied Luxembourg Square in Brussels with flags and banners to demand the end of Washington’s policy of economic, commercial and financial blockade, which they described as criminal.
Cuban residents in Germany, Belgium, France, Italy and the United Kingdom, as well as Latin Americans and representatives of political forces and solidarity movements from several countries also participated in the demonstration.
The Day for Cuba in Belgium continues on Thursday with a tribute to National Hero Jose Marti on the 127th anniversary of his fall in combat.
