According to the president of that non-governmental organization, Norma Goicochea, the institution founded on May 30, 1947, will carry out initiatives to denounce the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against the Caribbean country, as well as the interference in its internal affairs.
The ACNU will also promote events for the defense of human rights and the promotion of issues related to the United Nations and the basic objectives of its Charter, particularly respect for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of the States, he said at a press conference.
Goicochea emphasized the willingness to make a critical analysis of reality and to always protect Cuba’s positions on the issues, based on the work with partners, collaborators and national and foreign civil society organizations.
In this regard, she mentioned that next Monday the 3rd Forum of the Cuban Civil Society Thinking Americas will take place in this capital, under the central theme: “Building a sustainable, resilient and equitable future”.
Another of the initiatives is an International Seminar on the Family Code Bill, which on May 25 will allow an online debate on a “modern, inclusive and pro-human rights instrument,” Goicochea said.
