At a meeting between Cuba’s Ambassador to Vietnam Orlando Hernandez Guillen and Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman Phan Van Mai, it was learned that, as steps towards that goal, local leaders and those of the Caribbean country’s consulate general agreed to grant scholarships for young Cubans every year and promote the teaching of Spanish language.

During the meeting, Phan Van Mai, who is also a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, highlighted the possibility of an alliance in the field of health and expressed the Cuban diplomat the need to continue promoting ties in that regard.

In addition, Phan Van Mai announced that a conference will be organized this year to present the existing potentialities between the two nations.

For his part, Hernandez Guillen explained the policies Cuba promotes to encourage investment and invited entrepreneurs from Ho Chi Minh City to draw close to that sector of the Caribbean nation.
