At a press conference, Sobrino stressed that the International Food, Beverage and Food Technology Fair (Alimentos Cuba 2.0) will help boost national production through the use of all existing resources.
Among participants will be the new economic stockholders of society who take part in the food industry, he said.
The event, he said, is scheduled from May 24 to 26 and will be attended by 70 foreign companies from 15 countries, the Cuban business sector and, as a novelty, non-state management forms will be incorporated.
Among the latter will be the recently approved MSMEs (micro, small and medium enterprises), non-agricultural cooperatives and self-employed workers, he explained.
Sobrino pointed out that this edition of Alimentos Cuba 2.0 has a special significance, since it is another action taken by the Government to promote safely and resolutely the program of food sovereignty and nutritional security, whose law was approved by the National People’s Power Assembly (Parliament).
