With five fast-track wins and only one by unanimous decision, the Cuban boxers staged a categorical return to professionalism the day before after 60 years of amateurism in an evening at the Palenque of the San Marcos National Fair, in Aguascalientes, comments the rotary.

The newspaper adds that, in a series of six fights scheduled for six rounds each, the members of the Domadores de Cuba team were far superior to their opponents: five Mexicans and one Colombian.

Excelsior estimated that this will be marked not only for Cuban boxing but also for professional boxing: six Cubans who entered through the wide door, quoting the words of Julio La Cruz, two-time Olympic champion in 2016 and 2020, from Camagüey.

The newspaper describes in a long report fight by fight and praises the quality, the temperament and in particular the talent exhibited thanks to the Cuban boxing school that has given so much glory to that country.

He described the poster as instructive, forceful and devastating and predicts an important performance by Cubans in rented boxing.

I feel well prepared, in Cuba we are doing a very good job and I want to put the name of Julio César La Cruz very high in professionalism as I have done in the amateur, concluded the Cuban fighter, the newspaper said.
