On his official Twitter account, the president wrote that “Carlos Lazo and his Bridges of Love in Cuba, with medicines for children awaiting transplants, confirm that love defeats hatred. Solidarity is the most beautiful act of love for humankind.”
Also on Twitter, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez described the donation as a gesture that gives hope to Cuban families again. He also said the humanitarian work of Bridges of Love gives hope to children, who are victims of the blockade imposed by the United States on the island.
On Sunday, members of this solidarity project, made up of Cuban emigrants, delivered at the William Soler Pediatric Hospital part of the indispensable chemical compound to carry out kidney transplants in children.
Bridges of Love defends the rapprochement between the peoples of Cuba and the United States and the lifting of the economic blockade against Cuba in the face of the campaigns to curb its initiatives.
