Our gratitude and appreciation to the Cuban people and government for their support to this great continent, said CEFA president, Kamal Gaballa, in a statement on the occasion of the celebration of Africa Day on May 25.
In the letter Gaballa also highlighted “the important political and diplomatic support to the just causes” of the region provided by Havana for more than 60 years.
We add our voice to the rest of the civil and governmental organizations of the world in solidarity with our friend Cuba, whose people are proud of their African roots, he said.
The text denounced the financial, economic and commercial blockade imposed by the United States on the Caribbean nation for more than 60 years, which it described as flagrant genocide.
We reaffirm our most sincere willingness to cooperate to strengthen relations between Egypt and Cuba, while advocating to increase the “ties of brotherhood, friendship and support for the Cuban people, in the difficult circumstances they face as a result of the unjust blockade,” it stressed.
