Cuba willing to expand cooperation in health (+Photos)

Geneva, May 24 (Prensa Latina) Cuba today showed its willingness to collaborate with nations interested in the projects and services developed by the Caribbean nation in the area of health.

On his Twitter social network account, the Public Health Minister, José Ángel Portal, reported that he met with his Indian counterpart, Mansukh Mandaviya.

“We addressed issues related to technological development and drug production, in which bilateral cooperation could be expanded,” he stressed.

In another message, the minister wrote: ” we jointly defined actions to increase collaboration between Cuba and Italy in the field of health and other areas related to scientific research”.

During the day, the Antillean minister also spoke with the Colombian Minister of Health and Social Protection, Fernando Ruiz.

“We shared ideas on how to strengthen and increase the collaboration relations that exist in the area of Health, for the benefit of both peoples,” he said.

He also wrote: “We had a fruitful exchange with the Haitian Health Minister, Alex Larsen, a country with which we have a long history of medical collaboration. “We shared experiences and ratified Cuba’s willingness to continue providing solidarity aid to this friendly people,” he added.

Portal’s messages are issued in the context of the high-level segment of the 75th Assembly of the World Health Organization, which began on the 22nd and will continue until next Saturday.
