The FdT plan proposes to recover foreign currency lost due to capital flight and tax evasion to pay the nearly 45 billion dollars requested by former President Mauricio Macri (2015-2019) to the IMF.
Through a statement, the Corriente Clasista y Combativa, the Central de Trabajadores Autónoma and the Federación Nacional Campesina specified that they called for the demonstration to demand that the effects of the crisis do not fall on the people, but on those who benefited from the actions of the former president. The tremendous inflation and the adjustment imposed by the agreement with the IMF mean that economic growth continues to benefit the big monopolies, banks and landowners, and that hunger and popular needs worsen, the text points out.
Every time the Government proposes any measure that affects the interests of the oligarchs, they respond with destabilizing threats through Juntos por el Cambio, the ultra-right-wing Javier Milei and mass media such as Clarín and La Nación, it adds.
It also points out that the demonstration will be in defense of sovereignty, against the gap between rich and poor and to make those who took Argentina’s wealth and condemn the majority of the citizens to hunger pay.
The organizations also demand an increase in salaries and pensions to face inflation, the strengthening of the fight against gender violence and actions against IMF interference.
