“The Russian Aerospace Forces and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army Air Force conducted joint air patrols in the Asia-Pacific region,” the statement said, according to which Russian Su-30SM fighter jets guarded the air group.
“At some stages of the route, the strategic missile carriers escorted F-2 aircraft of the South Korean Air Force and F-15 aircraft of the Japanese Air Force,” the statement said.
It specified that in carrying out their missions, the aircraft of both countries strictly complied with the provisions of international law. “There was no violation of the airspace of foreign states,” the Russian military said.
It warned that the surveillance was conducted in line with the provisions of the 2022 Russia-China military cooperation plan.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that the flight time of the country’s strategic missile carriers was about 13 hours.
