Russian forces destroyed U.S. shell warehouse in Ukraine

Moscow, May 24 (Prensa Latina) Russian Armed Forces destroyed in the last 24 hours a division of the 14th Mechanized Brigade of Ukraine and a warehouse of shells for U.S. howitzers, the Ministry of Defense of this country reported.

According to this Ministry´s spokesman, Major General Igor Konashenkov, the high-precision air missiles hit three control posts and 36 zones of concentration of forces and military equipment of the enemy troops.

Besides, 6 anmunition depots in different zones of the Donetsk People´s Republic and a large warehouse of 155-millimeter shell for U.S. M-777 howitzers were also destroyed.

For its part, the artillery of the Russian ground forces struck about 700 Ukrainian military targets over the past day, including 84 control posts, 463 troop and armament assembly centers.

Also annihilated by these troops were 137 artillery and mortar units, 13 tanks and armored combat vehicles, four Grad multiple rocket launchers and three ammunition depots.

Meanwhile, Russian air defense units shot down five Ukrainian drones and intercepted four projectiles of the Smerch multiple launch rocket system.

Ukrainian aviation knocked out a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter, destroyed a Buk-M1 anti-aircraft missile system and killed about 210 enemy servicemen over the past day.
