In Cuba, prevention is at the heart of social policy in order to preserve human life, the organization created in 1995 noted in its weekly publication La lettre électronique Hebdo, through which it keeps its thousands of subscribers updated about Cuba’s reality.
The text, signed by CubaCoop Vice President Michel Humbert, praises the new edition of Meteoro 2022, which took place over the weekend with activities to prepare organizations and the population to anticipate and mitigate the consequences of situations such as hurricanes, accidents and epidemics.
CubaCoop recalled that Cuba faces a hurricane season every year, between June and November, which is posing more serious threats due to climate change.
This prevention system and its effectiveness is acknowledged worldwide, as well as the mass participation of the population, so that each person knows how to act in each situation, he said.
This French association supports Cuba in cooperation projects in sectors ranging from water and sanitation to culture, health and food safety, a strategy focused on counteracting the effects of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.
