“Nationalist and radical right-wing elements are trying to enter our country under the guise of refugees, including those who participated in the hostilities,” Kulishov explained in an interview with the Rossiyskaya Gazeta newspaper.

The General added that the flow of displaced people from Ukraine is increasing significantly as a result of the growing military danger and the worsening of the humanitarian situation in Donbass.

“More than 1.2 million Russian and Ukrainian citizens have been authorized to enter the Russian Federation since mid-February,” Kulishov said.

According to the General, Russian border guards, along with employees of territorial security agencies and Russian Guard divisions, maintain strict control to identify possible nationalists in the flow of refugees.

The National Center for Defense Management reported for its part that the displaced mostly crossed into Russian territory through checkpoints in the regions of Rostov, Bryansk, Belgorod and the Republic of Crimea.

They also reported that more than 52 thousand refugees are staying in 508 temporary assistance centers in 52 regions of Russia.
