In an interview with Jornal de Angola, the president of the Board of Directors of the National Agency for the Management of the Angolan Okavango Region (Anagero), Rui Lisboa, confirmed that the Government has created a multi-sectoral working group to speed up the implementation of the projects.
He announced that the Angolan part of the Okavango-Zambezi will receive, as of next month, the first investments from national and foreign entrepreneurs, in the areas of ecotourism, agriculture, agribusiness, airfield operation and logging, in the localities of Cuito Cuanavale, Mavinga, Dirico, Cuangar and Bico de Angola (Rivungo), in the province of Cuando Cubango.
In a few days, he said, pre-agreements will be signed to offer investors the possibility of working on the mobilization of financial resources and on all the legal procedures for the execution of the works.
Anagero has already received proposals from Fragile Earth and Space for Giants, from the United Kingdom; Wilderness Safari from Botswana and the Social Security Institute of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), he explained.
These projects, he said, will be considered pilots, with which “we will quickly sign memorandums of understanding to initiate activities leading to implementation”.
