The cargo is worth some 73,000 Canadian dollars (almost 58,000 US dollars), the group said, expressing its constant support for more than 15 years for the Cuban people.
Throughout that time, the organization has constantly denounced the hostile policy by the US government on Cuba, especially the economic, commercial and financial blockade that has been imposed on the Caribbean island for more than six decades.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Juan Gualberto Gomez association has sent six containers with medical supplies to Cuba, including four containers with oxygen, among other shipments, to the provinces of Matanzas (west) and Holguin (east).
After the May 6 accident at the Saratoga Hotel, which killed 46 people and injured 99, the association not only mourned these victims but also promoted the collection of donations and the creation of an aid fund for them.
