On welcoming the Executive Council of Arab Social Affairs Ministers, the Lebanese leader wished to continue the assistance from these governments in order to revive the nation from the current collapse.
The head of State appreciated the relationship with the alliance and reiterated the importance of responding to the return of displaced Syrians in accordance with the principle of security and international cooperation.
Aoun told the League of Arab States ministers that the explosion in the Port of Beirut in August 2020 exacerbated the crisis that today plunges four out of five Lebanese into poverty, according to the United Nations.
The meeting with President Aoun was attended by representatives of the governments of Egypt, Jordan, Yemen, Tunisia and the host country.
The current visit of the members of the League of Arab States precedes the meeting of the Foreign Ministers, scheduled for late June in this capital.
