Advanced rocket system on Russia to escalate Ukrainian conflict

Rusia, Ucrania, conflicto, cohetes, escalada
Moscow, Jun 4 (Prensa Latina) Washington's recent approval of sending four advanced multiple-launch M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, commonly known as HIMARS, could escalate the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Experts say President Biden´s decision would create conditions for direct US involvement in the Moscow-Kyiv war, given such a rocket system´s missiles can reach Russian territory.

Russian Security Council Vice President Dmitry Medvedev recently warned his country will respond to a possible use of HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems against Russia.

It´s too obvious we must react to this threat, and in this case our Armed Forces will have no choice but to attack Ukrainian decision-making centers, Mr. Medvedev told Al Jazeera News Agency, while detailing these centers: the Ministry of Defense, General Staff, among other headquarters of the Ukrainian Government, “unfortunately, are not even in Kyiv ground.

Mr. Medvedev said the United States and some European nations are deeply involved in military operations in Ukraine, “in the so-called subsidized war format”, referring to the fact they provide military and financial resources while Ukraine people continue dying.

The head of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andrei Yermak, reported that Ukrainian and US representatives planned and organized military support from Washington to Kyiv, including HIMARS multiple-launch rocket systems.

On Telegram, Mr. Yermak stressed such a military aid is part of Washington´s latest $700 million package, which also includes Mi-17 helicopters, Javelin missiles, tactical vehicles, radars and other missiles.

After several days deciding on approving or not such an assistance, President Joe Biden wrote an article in The New York Times trying to justify his decision.
