Lukashenko and Patriarch Kirill discuss situation in Belarus

Minsk, Jun 6 (Prensa Latina) Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia, Kirill, met in this capital on Monday to discuss this country's position amid the current European political context.

Given that the current general political context in Europe is disturbing and alarming and Belarus is located on the border area between eastern and western Europe, but, of course, in the east, we are aware of its importance and place in the modern architecture of the continent, Kirill said.

He added that the conversation with the Belarusian president at the Palace of Independence in Minsk was long, very informative, and they agreed on several topics, according to TASS news agency.

He explained that they are trying to answer a number of questions about a very complex issue and perhaps not understood: the survival of human civilization. To where the world is going? What is happening to people? What is happening to us?

According to the leader of the Russian Orthodox Church, there is death and destruction where there is evil; and there is life where there is good.

For his part, Lukashenko described the visit of the patriarch of Moscow and all Russia to Belarus as a good sign, and stressed his government’s determination to withstand any pressure against the country, either a rebellion or a hybrid war. jg/aph/mv/mml
