Kursk region in Russia extends terrorist threat protocol

Moscow, Jun 9 (Prensa Latina) The governor of the Russian region of Kursk, Roman Starovoit, reported the decision to extend the high-risk terrorist threat protocol in the territory until June 22th.

Starovoit explained on Telegram that the measures applied as part of have helped the security forces and special services to protect the region during the last two months or so and even prevent an attack during the holidays in May.

The Russian Federal Security Service arrested on May 12th a resident of the city of Kursk who was preparing a terrorist attack in the city in coordination with the Ukrainian special services, as per the TASS news agency.

During the interrogation, the detainee confessed that he was planning a series of explosions in that territory bordering Ukraine, frequently bombed by the Kiev forces.
