The Sinn Fein delegation led by its national coordinator, Caoimhin McCann, was received by Ambassador Bernardo Guanche, to whom it expressed its support for the Cuban Revolution and the struggle against the unilateral blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba for more than six decades.
He also rejected the exclusion of Cuba from the IX Summit of the Americas being held in the U.S. city of Los Angeles and exchanged ideas on how to further strengthen the ties of friendship and solidarity between the peoples of Ireland and Cuba, Guanche informed Prensa Latina.
In a video released on its Twitter social network account, the Irish organization said it was interested in sharing experiences with Cuban youth to learn about the construction of socialism in the Caribbean island.
They also want to know about the environmental and sustainability projects implemented with a view to applying them in Ireland.
All our solidarity, it is time to end the US blockade. Ógra Sinn Fein will always, always be with Cuba, assured the leader of the group outside the Cuban embassy in Dublin.
