Cuba confirmed 15 new Covid-19 cases and 30 days without death

Havana, Jun 11 (Prensa Latina) Cuba confirmed today 15 new positive cases of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, and no deaths, which represents 30 consecutive days without death due to the disease.

The number of patients admitted is 967, 826 suspected, 37 under surveillance and 104 confirmed active, according to the daily report released by the Public Health Ministry (Minsap).

With the 15 medical discharges granted by the competent authorities, the recovery of nationals reached 1,96,900 (99.2% of all confirmed cases).

In hospitals, 102 persons are admitted with a stable clinical evolution while two patients in critical condition are being treated in intensive therapies.

The eastern provinces of Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba and Granma did not report any new cases, nor did Cienfuegos, Sancti Spiritus and Ciego de Avila (in the center), or the western special municipality of Isla de la Juventud. The island accumulates 1,105,592 diagnosed with the pathogen since March 11, 2020 and the total number of fatalities as a result of the pandemic continues at 8,529.

Such behavior places the lethality of the Caribbean island at 0.77 percent, much lower than the 1.17 in the world and 1.72 in the American continent, according to a comparison of the data provided by Minsap.
