At a press conference after official talks with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Russian foreign minister assured that Moscow will not take advantage of the demining of Ukrainian ports for military purposes.

We guarantee that if Ukraine demines and allows ships to leave its ports, we will not take advantage of this situation in the interests of the Russian military operation, he said.

He stressed that such guarantees come from Russian President Vladimir Putin and Moscow is ready to formalize them in one way or another.

Cavusoglu, for his part, considered realistic the idea of creating a safe mechanism for grain exports from Ukrainian ports with the participation of Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and the UN.

In this regard, Lavrov confirmed that his country is ready, in coordination with Ankara, to create safe conditions for the departure of ships from Ukrainian ports, but clarified that Kiev expressed its refusal to demine its territorial waters.

He commented that if the Ukrainian side is ready to ensure transit, his country expects the problem to be solved.
