The agreement was signed by the president of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), Yehia Zaki, and the general manager of the Colon Free Zone Administration, Giovanni Bruno Ferrari.

The agreement allows greater investment opportunities in the SCZone and its six ports in the Red and Mediterranean seas, it will also help Egyptian businessmen to explore the market in Panama, a gateway to Latin America.

Ferrari considered the agreement a new impetus for economic relations between the two nations.

The cooperation will allow the Colon Free Zone to benefit from the SCZone as a fundamental point in the Middle East and Africa for commercial exchange, he stressed.

The head of the Americas department of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Ashraf Mounir, and the ambassador of Panama in Cairo, Alejandro Ivan Mendoza, participated in the ceremony.
