Through a statement, the network, which is made up of more than 10 organizations, congratulated Prensa Latina (PL) on its 63rd anniversary on June 16, and described it as an unwavering stronghold of peoples in favor of humankind’s interests.
“We congratulate the group of revolutionary communicators who make possible that Prensa Latina news agency contributes to the disemmination of truth every day, informing and educating the world from the perspective of fighting peoples”, the statement noted.
It added that this agency was founded in 1959, a few months after the triumph of the Cuban Revolution at the right moment to fight the lies spread by major news agencies in the world.
The statement concluded saying that, throughout these 63 years, Prensa Latina has become an effective instrument not only for Cuba but also for all the peoples from this continent and the world.
Prensa Latina was founded by Argentinian journalist Jorge Ricardo Masetti on June 16, 1959, ordered by Historic Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, and Ernesto Che Guevara.
The agency, which major media oulets believed it will last but a month, has 40 offices in the world, radio, TV and multimedia services, websites in six languages, and constant work on social media.
