According to Ecns.cn, China News Service Website, the new AWcorna immunizer was made with mRNA technology (the same one used by Pfizer) and was capable of stimulating the neutralizing antibody production in about 300 volunteers between 14 and 28 days following its application.

Generally speaking, these individuals had no significant adverse effects, so the third phase of trials will go on with as many as 28,000 nationals living abroad, but specialists assured that the emergency use of AWcorna vaccine as a booster in China can be assessed.

Aside from AWcorna immunizer, China is also testing other ones specifically designed to protection from Omicron infections amid continuing Covid-19 outbreaks that have forced the Chinese government to isolate Shanghai and parts of Beijing.
