Wang Wenbin, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stressed that his country’s health policy prioritizes the population’s health and life above all, reflects the dedication of the Communist Party to the people and was adjusted as the epidemiological situation evolved. The official spoke about the growth of foreign trade and direct foreign investments since early this year, mainly by South Korea, Germany and the United States, which showed trust in the Chinese market.

He said that they are completely sure that they can control the pandemic, stabilize the economy, achieve safe economic development and defend the health mechanism, which overlooks the approach of living with the disease.

This way, Wang responded to a statement by US Ambassador here, Nicholas Burns, who mentioned the negative effects of China’s strategy against Covid-19 for business and its possible validity until 2023.

The American diplomat indicated that measures such as the two-month lockdown in Shanghai prompted the withdrawal of many fellow countrymen, harmed businesspeople’s feelings and hindered exchanges.
