The number of new cases is the highest reported so far in June and indicates that the disease is ravaging the country, in what many consider to be the sixth wave of the virus.

No deaths were reported during the day, so the death toll remained at 4,382.

According to the report, the country increased the number of active cases to 3,799 and the authorities explained that the daily positivity is currently at 16.33 percent and that of the last four weeks at 9.64.

Likewise, hospital occupancy grew to 8.9 percent, while in the intensive care units they have 29 patients for a five .

The fatality rate is at 0.74 percent.

The aforementioned Ministry insists the population to maintain protective measures against the virus, not to lower their guard and to complete their vaccination schedule.
