Such an initiative is based on conclusions of debates with citizens launched by the European Union (EU) nearly two years ago to rethink the European project.
Therefore, the Conference on the Future of Europe will be held in September, where 49 proposals will be debated and studied, according to the statement.
The European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will reveal the first measures in her State of the European Union Address at the plenary session of Parliament. Later, the proposals will be part of the EU´s working program by 2023 and the letter of intent for that year.
In order to analyze the 49 proposals and 326 individual measures, Brussels wrote down a document to determine if they can be considered as existing initiatives, pending negotiation or about to be processed.
The Commission will also ensure the new reforms and policies are not “incompatible” with the European Union’s prerogative to wipe bureaucracy out and change a treaty, Europa Press reported.
