Michael Radomski, head of Uplink Network described that new technology as a “bridge,” and refused to change one system for another.
Both modalities are compatible and have different strong points, Radomski said, whose company operates 800 FM radio stations and 10 with digital technology.
The FM is ideal for smaller broadcasting areas in the case of private radio stations, he said.
However, amid the current crisis due to huge price increases, that technology is an energy consuming machine.
Later, Radomski said that the hasty elimination of FM would have no sense and added that a media outlet in Germany will never have the technical and real range of frequency modulation.
