Cuba and Serbia to strengthen bilateral cooperation

Havana, Jun 20 (Prensa Latina) Cuban and Serbian diplomats on Monday reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

Both nations expressed their interest in deepening talks, during a meeting held between Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodríguez and Serbian Deputy Foreign Minister for Bilateral Cooperation Vladimir Maric.

On Twitter, Ms. Rodríguez pointed out diplomats heaped praise on positive 120-year relations between Cuba and Serbia.

Serbia was one of the world´s first nations to recognize the newly-established Republic of Cuba in 1902 –in 1902 and since the triumph of the Cuban Revolution in January 1959. Bilateral relations have always kept an understanding scenario, struggling firmly for keeping sovereignty and independence.

Both nations have recognized as areas of common interest the mutual support in multilateral organizations in the fight for the end of the US blockade against Cuba as well as Serbia´s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
