Upon receiving Chen Xi as first Chinese Ambassador to the Central American nation after the restoration of diplomatic relations, Moncada said that there is only one China recognized by history, the international community and reaffirmed in the United Nations.

The head of Nicaraguan diplomacy highlighted the presence in the country of the Beijing representative, which, he said, will serve to enhance the historical process of bilateral relations.

Moncada told Chen that China has played an important role in the dynamics to change the world and “put an end to unipolarity, and have a multipolar, fair, equitable world, with balanced, sustainable, but shared development.”

For his part, the ambassador conveyed the greetings by President Xi Jinping to his counterpart Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo, as well as those of China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, addressed to Moncada.

The Chinese diplomat arrived in Managua at midday on Wednesday and was received at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the evening.

Nicaragua and China signed the restoration of diplomatic relations on December 10, 2021, after the Central American nation broke off relations with Taiwan.
