DPRK decides to enhance defense

Pyongyang, Jun 24 (Prensa Latina) The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) is focused on strengthening its defensive capabilities to protect its socialist system in the face of current challenges and hardships, according to a report disclosed on Friday.

With this goal, the third expanded meeting of the 8th Period of the Central Military Commission of the Workers’ Party of Korea concluded on Thursday, in which the missions and the new operational plan of the units of the Korean People’s Army were determined, according to ACNC news agency.

At the meeting, chaired by leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong Un, the project of restructuration of military organizations was ratified to strengthen the defense capabilities of the country under the regulations of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).

In this regard, actions were agreed upon through the full implementation of the military line of the organization and its main policies, according to the source.

During the meeting, attendees agreed on the need to strengthen WPK’s plans for the Armed Forces and projected actions for transformations in the formation and technical-

military aspect of the army.

Kim Jong Un considered it imperative to firmly maintain the absolute strength and military-technical superiority of the Korean People’s Army in today’s struggle, describing it as a bulwark for the defense of the revolution and the homeland.

The participants also determined the strategic and tactical tasks aimed at building the national defense system and decided on the political and organizational measures for their implementation.
