During a meeting held the day before in Ramallah, the PLO Executive Committee affirmed that Washington’s promises and statements remain shelved without any serious mechanism to fulfill them, according to the official Wafa news agency.

Among them, the Palestinian institution cited the US consulate´s reopening in East Jerusalem, closed during President Donald Trump´s administration. These developments confirm that Washington “continues to support the Israeli occupation at all levels and refrains from taking any steps that would help create a serious political horizon leading to the implementation” of international norms regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, it stressed.

The PLO also denounced the ongoing escalation of Tel Aviv’s security forces and the international double standards on the issue of human rights protection.

In this regard, it called for an end to the occupation and colonialist policy of the neighboring nation in order to create a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He also called for guaranteeing the right of return of the millions of refugees to their homes.
