President of Hungary opposes new sanctions against Russia

Orban-Hungria
Budapest, Jun 24 (Prensa Latina) Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has denied that his country would support new sanctions against Russia, as he believes they will not help bring peace to Ukraine and will further worsen the economic situation in Europe.

Speaking at the European Union (EU) summit in Brussels, Orban considered that the world needs peace now, not new sanctions, because the only antidote to warlike inflation is peace.

“We say yes to peace and no to more sanctions,” Orban stressed.

The participants in the summit plan to discuss the financial and economic situation in Europe, including the consequences of sanctions, problems with energy supply and containing inflation.

According to analysts, those involved do not plan to apply new sanctions against Russia for the events unfolding in Ukraine.
