Member of the Islamic State arrested in Russia

Moscow, Jun 27 (Prensa Latina) Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) reported on Monday that a member of the Islamic State, involved in an attack in Istanbul, was arrested in Daghestan.

The arrested man is Russian citizen Abdurakhman Abdurakhmanov, a member of a secret cell of that terrorist group, who was detected by Russian special services, according to Sputnik news agency this Monday.

According to the FSB, Abdurakhmanov sent money to be used in the January 1, 2017 attack on the Reina club in Istanbul, Turkey, which killed 39 people, including a Russian citizen.

The FSB recalled that the organizers of this attack were sentenced to life imprisonment.

It adds that bank cards, cell phones, personal computers, as well as religious propaganda literature were confiscated during the search.

Abdurakhmanov’s brothers are also wanted for participation in an illegal armed formation.
