Adnan Al-Husseini, head of the PLO Jerusalem Affairs Department, criticized in a communique the project the Government of that country is promoting through the Ministry of Justice.

He denounced that the Israeli authorities are promoting the Judaization of the city, as part of their strategy to impose faits accomplis on the ground at the expense of the rights of the Palestinian people.

Haaretz newspaper revealed on Monday that Israeli authorities registered lands in the name of Israeli settlers in the occupied East Jerusalem with funds supposedly intended to improve the quality of life of the Palestinian residents.

The beginning of the policy of registering the plots was supposedly intended to benefit the Palestinians, but in fact, it is used by the Government to cynically steal their lands in favor of the settlers, Gal Yanovsky, of the human rights organization Ir Amin, quoted by the newspaper, denounced.

The publication highlighted the situation in East Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, in which almost most of Palestinians live and is the scene of violent clashes following several eviction attempts.
